I give you the bird

Brenna and I got selected to be volunteers at Bonnaroo this year.  I am extra excited about this opportunity.  I frequented the first three 'roos (2002-2004) as a patron and can't wait to go again and this time not only do we get to work for the festival, we get to see some kick ass music as well.

This will be our home away from home SUMMER 2009

here is our new feathered friend.  Randomly caught him out my kitchen window before work

Latest Creation

Here is a Silver, Copper, and Gold pendant i twisted up a couple of days ago.   Don't forget our Art show is a week from today at the Huntsville Museum of Art.  The name of the event is Art in Bloom and you will see Brenna and I vending our wares.  It should be a great time.  You will see this gem there and at our online shop A Green Banana  enjoy:

Bat Box Mod

Today was a busy day.  I modified the bat box that Brenna got me for Xmas.  The cedar smells great and reminds me of my hamster i had back in the day.    I added the landing board and chicken wire .  This way the bats have a front porch area to hang out at before going to bed.

Also included in this photo is Peter-Pierre inspecting my work.  I just have to find a good place to mount this bat box.   I will keep the pics updated here and  hopefully we get a family of bats this summer.

Ahhhhh. Freshy Bloggy

OK so Brenna (the love of my life) has really inspired me to start blogging.   I was just bugging her to post my pics, but now we both will have avenues on the inter-web to express our creativity.

I'm just gonna jump right into it.  This is a Fluorite crystal that I found in city limits last sunday.   I was on my dinner break with my co-worker and friend Scott when I asked him to pull the car to the side of the road to inspect a rock wall area that I had briefly explored about a year ago.   Well after about a few 10 minutes i found this beauty.

some of the iron stains still need to be removed.  But since fluorite can be very fragile I'm hesitant to use anything strong.  Any suggestions?
